RESEARCH AT RISØ

International research and test facilities on land, at sea and in air

Today, Risø primarily serves as a research campus for DTU and Aarhus University. Consequently, the majority of the approximately 1,000 people working at Risø are employed in research.

DTU Risø Campus is Denmark’s leading research and innovation hub in areas such as sustainable energy sources and energy systems, and operates some of the world’s most advanced research facilities and test sites for wind and energy systems. Here, researchers and companies can test everything from nanoscale materials and large-scale structures to fully operational demonstrations of wind turbines, and researchers collaborate with the entire energy sector to develop the most efficient and green technologies in the world.
