Now the sun shines even at night

New battery solutions make it possible to store solar energy and use it when the sun is not shining. With large-scale energy storage, renewable energy becomes more stable and easier to integrate into the electricity system, reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Developments indicate how battery technology is playing a central role in the green transition – both in Denmark and internationally.

Danish Test Facilities

RISØ Gateway Summit 2025!

On September 23, 2025, companies, industry, researchers, students and politicians met at DTU Risø Campus for the first time under the heading "RISØ Gateway Summit 2025". With a shared vision to develop the Risø area into a global and dynamic hub for sustainable energy technologies, energy systems and biosolutions, the framework was set for innovation, partnerships and growth.

DTU establishes education programs at DTU Risø Campus

In the fall of 2026, DTU will open a new Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Technology at Risø Campus - an important part of the Risø Gateway vision to bring research, education and industry closer together.
