DTU plans to create new programs at DTU Risø Campus

Education at DTU Risø Campus today

Today, DTU Risø Campus primarily serves as a research campus for DTU and Aarhus University. Thus, the majority of the approximately 1,000 people working at Risø are employed in research.

Some teaching takes place at DTU Risø Campus. Most often in the form of individual subjects, courses, workshops and summer school programs for Master & PhD students. Education is provided in a wide range of subject areas such as sustainable energy, energy systems, energy storage, wind turbine design, solar cell design, green fuels, P2X technologies, etc.

New programs at DTU Risø Campus

DTU has decided that no later than 2030, two new master's programs will be established at Risø with an expected annual intake of 200 students, creating a campus for approximately 400 students at DTU Risø Campus.

This means that the campus at Risø must be prepared students and DTU has therefore purchased a large plot of land in extension of DTU Risø Campus, which allows for the establishment of the necessary educational facilities.

From 2025, it will be possible to take a Master's degree in wind energy, from the newly designed hybrid learning facility at Risø.

DTU throughout Denmark

DTU has a strategy to establish new programs at a number of locations in Denmark. When choosing locations, it has been crucial for DTU to be close to industry and important infrastructure projects.

DTU wants to be present at locations where it makes sense for our students and researchers, and close to the companies - where it benefits society the most.

Below are DTU's locations in Denmark.
